New sermon series & Sunday groups!

On Sunday, April 19 we'll be kicking off a new excited sermon series and Sunday group studies to go along with it. Many of you have probably heard the phrase “Membership has its privileges.” Usually it means access, status, or rewards. But in the church, the privileges of membership look very different. The privilege of belonging. The privilege of being gifted. The privilege of serving. The privilege of making a difference in the world. Get ready to celebrate the privilege of being the Church.

UWF collecting donations for New Day Camp

This April, our United Women in Faith are collecting supplies and donations for New Day Camp, a program of CJAMM (Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries). New Day is a transformative summer camp experience for children and families affected by incarceration, providing healing activities, counseling, and hope for breaking generational cycles. Click the button to see the list. Donation boxes can be found next to the front and Christian Life Center entryways.

Financial Peace University returns Sept 10

Imagine how much more you could bless others if money weren't a burden. If you had no debt payments. No money stress. That's the freedom that God wants for us - and it's possible! Join our Financial Peace University (FPU) class starting on September 10 at 6:30 pm. This 9-week course walks through God's ways of handling money so we can live a debt-free, generous, more abundant life. Class coordinators will be Tim and Catrina Bourne. Children's ministry info meeting this Sunday

Our programs are growing and we need more volunteers in Nursery and Kids Connect! Anyone who wants to know more about what volunteering with our kiddos looks like can attend a short informational meeting on July 20 at 11:00 am or 12:15 pm in the Christian Life Center. Please email Moss Myers if you have questions.

Laundromat ministry returns

Our new laundromat ministry is returning and we need your help to make it happen. If you can donate quarters, please bring those with you to church. There is a "quarter roll rack" in the main sanctuary if you'd like to place them there. You can also bring them in loose as well to any service. You can also help by setting aside some time on Saturday, April 25 to simply hang out at a local laundromat and (with the donated quarters) offer to help folks with their laundry. These random acts of kindness and the connections made while doing them can got a long way to showing the love of Jesus.

Grief support group has returned

This is an 8-week open group that provides the space for community members to connect with one another and share their experiences, learn new coping skills, gain insights, and find mutual support. Drop in any Tuesday evening starting April 7 from 6:30-7:30pm in room S7. Groups will be facilitated by our Associate Pastor Maya Debruyne Groups will be facilitated by our new Associate Pastor Maya Debruyne. Questions? Please email Maya at mdebruyne@umcgs.org.

Friday afternoons with Pastor Maya

Life brings seasons that leave us wondering about our direction, questioning our purpose, or simply feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes we need a trusted conversation partner, someone who will listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and walk alongside us as we navigate what's next. Associate Pastor Maya DeBruyne is setting up Friday afternoons to have some conversations. Here are just a few examples of what might be discussed:

• Discerning a major life decision
• Processing loss or transition
• Exploring questions of faith and meaning
• Needing someone to simply sit with you in a difficult season
• Wondering how your spiritual life connects to your daily challenges

These conversations are confidential, unhurried, and centered on you. You don't need to be in crisis to schedule time. To find out more or schedule an appointment, email Pastor Maya or call the church office at 405-324-1900. She's available to meet with you in your home, at the church, or at a local coffee shop on Friday afternoons.
