Outreach Ministries

 Angel Tree – a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ at Christmas.

(There are service opportunities in November & December.)

Back-to-School Ministry – is an extension of the L.O.C.S. program.  This is one of ways we care for our community in partnership with the local schools.

(There are several service opportunities during the school year.)

Easter Meals Ministry – This is one of the ways we care for our community in partnership with the local schools and is an extension of the L.O.C.S. program.

(There are service opportunities in the spring session.)

Kairos Prison Ministry – The mission of Kairos is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens in their community.  Good Shepherd supports Kairos through prayer, cookie baking, and the creation of paper placemats.

L.O.C.S. – Loving Our Community Schools is an outreach program of Good Shepherd designed to provide school supplies, encouragement, and spiritual support to the teachers of the local schools in our community.  This includes school supply drives, teacher appreciation activities, and prayer support.

(There are service opportunities during the school year.)

Missions a great way to meet people, learn about a new culture and share the love and grace of Jesus Christ. There is no greater joy than helping others achieve basic necessities that we take for granted every day.  Most trips involve construction of some sort and relationship building activities, such as, Mission Bible School.

(There is at least one mission trip a year.)

Project Transformation – a national organization devoted to bridging the literacy gap and providing meals to children from low-income families.  Good Shepherd partners with this program by providing reading mentors.

(There are service opportunities in June and July.)

Salvation Army Red Shield Diner & Kitchen – opens its doors and arms every day, 365 days a year, to feed the hungry in Oklahoma City.  Good Shepherd partners with this ministry by providing food and hands and feet to serve.

Serve B4 Service – This is an outreach service program of Good Shepherd meeting the needs of community programs and ministries such as the Yukon Manna Pantry, Mustang Public Schools, etc.

Skyline Urban Ministry: Food Resource Center – The Skyline Food Resource Center provides over a week’s worth of groceries to low-income households so that families struggling with finances might focus on other essential needs.  Good Shepherd partners with this ministry by conducting a food drive once a year.
