Wednesday Night Classes 2016

Wednesday Night Simple Meals and Classes

Why do we offer Wednesday night programming?

As we look at the early disciples in Acts 2:42-47, we observe people gathered together to worship God, share a meal, study, pray, and serve others. The Holy Spirit worked through these simple acts and their faith grew. In a sense we are following this example of making disciples as we gather together.

Here at Church of the Good Shepherd we have several hundred people attending four different worship services on Sunday morning. The Wednesday night programming provides an opportunity for people to connect with one another, be inspired by stories of faith, learn about discipleship, and reach out to the community. People receive both physical and spiritual nourishment through the prayer, meal and small group opportunities offered.

This fall we will be offering the following Wednesday night connection opportunities:

Fellowship mealserved from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Christian Life Center. The cost for the simple meal is $5 or $15/family.

Children's Classes

Classrooms South and East of the Sanctuary
Our Children's Sunday School classes for ages 3 years to 5th grade are held in rooms theme-painted and decorated by talented members of our congregation. Children may meet in the Ocean Room, the Jungle Room, the Barn Room, the Woodland Room or the Savannah room, all designed to provide a lively, stimulating environment where our kids can spiritually and mentally grow on their faith journey. The rooms are rotated among age-groups each week so that they experience many different settings.

Children will check in at the desk in the Information Center and find out what room their class is in. Your child's safety is important to us, and Good Shepherd helps to ensure their experience by following the Safe Sanctuaries guidelines as outlined by the United Methodist Church.
