July is Recycle Month

UMC Good Shepherd Children's Ministries is starting a monthly mission project to go with their lessons in Sunday School. July is about creation, and we will be recycling to learn about how to take care of God's world! Please bring in recyclable items and place them in the collection bins by the doors. We are looking for items such as plastic containers (especially 2-liter bottles), paper products, glass (like glass jars), or cardboard. Our children will sort them. We encourage you to continue this project at home!

Praying with Mandalas

Does busy-ness consume you?  Is your soul seeking a time to pause?  Are you looking for creative, meaningful ways to pray?  Come slow down and spend time with God through contemplative coloring.

Coloring is a great way to relax and Sharon Seyfarth Garner has found a way to use it for prayer as well.  Praying with Mandalas blends the relaxing practice of coloring with the four ancient spiritual practices of lectio divina, intercessory prayer, centering prayer, and ignatian examen.

Contemplative coloring is a simple, enjoyable, and a tangible way to let go of our distractions, provide much needed rest, and inspire us to act.  Come nurture your relationship with God through prayer.  REGISTER on the Worship Registration card or by email This email address is being protected from spambots. Children's Classes

Classrooms South and East of the Sanctuary
Our Children's Sunday School classes for ages 3 years to 5th grade are held in rooms theme-painted and decorated by talented members of our congregation. Children may meet in the Ocean Room, the Jungle Room, the Barn Room, the Woodland Room or the Savannah room, all designed to provide a lively, stimulating environment where our kids can spiritually and mentally grow on their faith journey. The rooms are rotated among age-groups each week so that they experience many different settings.

Children will check in at the desk in the Information Center and find out what room their class is in. Your child's safety is important to us, and Good Shepherd helps to ensure their experience by following the Safe Sanctuaries guidelines as outlined by the United Methodist Church.
